Medical Clinics.

Today, I went with Tracy to the doctor at a clinic that is near our apartment.  Tracy has had a persistent cough for the past few days and so she wanted to get it checked out.  When we went to this particular doctor - it was different from the way we do it back at home.  At home, we make an appointment and then go to the doctor then.  At this particular doctor you do not make an appointment. When we walked in there were a half dozen people or so already in the waiting area.  There is no receptionist so you basically just follow an honor system and go first come, first served. We ended up waiting over an hour for Tracy to finally get in to see the doctor which the time with the Doctor only took about 5-10 minutes tops before she walked out with her prescription in hand.  I still am not sure if this was an actual doctors office or if this was just a clinic.  Anyway, it was interesting to see that the medical services are slow here as well - in terms of waiting to see the doctor, although usually, our waits won't take an hour!  Tracy also didn't have to fill out any paperwork or anything which makes me think that this may have been a clinic and not an actual doctor's office.  Either which way it was interesting to see in a small way how the socialized Health Care works out Spain.

Halfway through putting captions with my pictures from Barcelona this weekend!  Expect an update before the end of the week.

Weather was finally for the most part nice here in Madrid this afternoon!  Warm - I hardly needed my winter coat although it was still fairly windy.  But maybe this is a sign that the Spring weather may finally be arriving!
