Today is another full day of classes (yawn)...I will talk about lunch it was more exciting then what was going on in IB...I mean the WTO is important but kinda boring when you already have the notes written down and we were just reading through the slides in class.
I ate lunch in the cafeteria with Katy and Kelly. Katy and I shared a pizza with Ham on it (pretty tasty but it made me crave to have some pineapple on it! While we were eating, Katy starting talking about something with hot dogs on it and it reminded Kelly and I of a story that our bus driver Paul told us about in Ireland. As we were going through one of the little towns, Paul asked us if we had ever heard about the oyster festival they have in this town every year for the past 30 yrs and of course we didn´t so he told us the story of how it originated. The guy who started it: Paddy, visited the United States while he was in College and fell in love with all of the food festivals we are apparently known to have. He also fell in love with Hot Dogs. When he returned to Ireland and started working at his family restaurant, he decided that he wanted to have a hot dog festival in this town. His dad told him that it would never take off - because 30 years ago Hot Dogs were not known of in Ireland apparently. So Paddy decided to have an Oyster eating festival instead. This was fine the first year until about nine months after the festival occured when the priest of the town told Paddy he could not out of good conscience let the oyster eating festival continue (Oysters are a natural Aphrodesiac so you can imagine what was happening 9 months after the festival). Anyway Paddy came up with an solution to satisfy the priest and solve the little problem the oysters cause. For every 10 oysters ordered, a pint of guiness comes with. According to Paddy, Guiness neutralizes the effect of the oysters! So now apparently all over Ireland, when you order oysters they bring you out a pint of Guiness! Good to know eh?!
Oh so some interesting stories came out in Oceanography on tuesday as well so lets write that one down too!
See if you can guess who invested in creating the first wind powered power plant in the US. Hint: Think Past PRESIDENTS and think businessman.
Also in oceanography our teacher was able to successfully coralate how Climate Change is going to turn the EU into Pirates....
Ahhh i have to go to class...I will finish this up in an hour after class!
